westsky GmbH is a small, high-end manufacturer of skydiving rigs based in Austria. All our experience, passion and love for the sport went into the development of this sport rig. The design of the TRAVEL was done from zero and is clearly different from all other rigs out there. We made no compromises in terms of safety and quality and have created a unique sports system for you in respect of comfort and performance.
Aerodynamic Shape
The rig sits perfectly and comfortably close to the body. In every flying position, the rig stays where it belongs and feels natural.
AAD Viewing Window
The AAD is easy to operate and to check from the outside, even when the rig is donned, with a viewing window placed in the neck section, made of clear, high strength flexible plastic.
Tab Riser Covers
The closing of the riser covers is achieved using tuck-in tabs to ensure the correct strength of the closure. The use of magnets has been deliberately avoided to ensure that when the container is open, it stays open.
No Secondary Riser Covers
The design of the container makes it possible to eliminate the need for additional main riser covers, resulting in a more symmetrical and stable opening of the container.
Dynamic Main Corners
The TRAVEL is constructed so that when it is open, it is completely open, from the YOKE to the BOC. The system folds apart and allows the main parachute to free itself effortlessly from the container.
BOC
The BOC of the TRAVEL is very easy to replace due to the fully opening container. A tight BOC is an important part of safety management and should be replaced regularly.
s´MARD (smart MARD)
The s’MARD system is designed for the TRAVEL, was developed, and tested by us and stands out for its simplicity and reliability. No extra MARD flaps save space and provide more reserve capacity.
Soft Upper Main Lift Webbing
The new and improved release hardware we have developed for the TRAVEL allows us to create a very flexible UMLW (Upper Main Lift Webbing). The difference is clearly felt and very comfortable. Nothing changes regarding the 3-Ring-System.
Advanced Chest Rings
The newly designed chest rings are an integral part of the harness concept. The Type 7 webbing material, which tapers from 44mm to 25mm, allows the application of smaller hardware (Mini-D-Rings). The new Mini-D-rings promise comfort on the ground, a firm fit of the system in freefall and mobility under canopy.
Cordura Backpad
The back panel is padded with high-performance foam and covered with Cordura. It is therefore very comfortable to wear and withstands the greatest stresses. Impurities are easy to remove, and the durability is excellent.
Cut-In-Laterals
Not only Cut-In but also connected to the container in a 60-degree angle to enable upper body movement while keeping the container tight to your body.
Leg Straps
The new single piece leg strap concept is a real delight. The newly designed slim leg strap buckles are not noticeable when worn. The straps are tightened upwards, and the slight excess length is also tucked away neatly towards the top. The padding is made using the double rolled edge method and is unsurpassed in comfort.
